Driver Partner Policy
Last updated: 01 August 2026
This policy outlines the eligibility, onboarding, conduct, and operating standards for all OzCabs driver partners. Please read it carefully before applying.
1. Who Can Apply
OzCabs welcomes car owners and experienced drivers who meet our eligibility criteria. You must hold a valid, clean driving licence and be legally permitted to operate a commercial passenger vehicle in India.
- Minimum age 22 years and a minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
- Valid driving licence with the appropriate commercial (or private, as applicable) endorsement.
- A well-maintained vehicle that is roadworthy and complies with local transport regulations.
- Valid vehicle registration, green-tax/road tax documents and third-party or comprehensive insurance.
- Clean background — no pending criminal cases or major traffic violations.
2. How to Apply
Apply through the Drivers page on our website. Provide your name, mobile number, city, car model and vehicle type. Our onboarding team will contact you within 24 hours to complete document verification and schedule an induction.
3. Document Verification
All applications are verified before onboarding. You will need to share copies of your driving licence, vehicle registration certificate, insurance policy, and a recent photograph. We may also conduct a police verification and a road-test at our discretion.
4. Onboarding and Training
Accepted drivers complete a short induction covering our service standards, customer handling, route guidance, fare transparency, and safety practices. Regular refresher sessions may be conducted to keep our fleet and conduct premium.
5. Conduct and Service Standards
- Always be punctual for pickups and keep the customer informed of delays.
- Maintain a clean, well-fuelled, air-conditioned vehicle in good condition.
- Follow the agreed route unless the customer requests a change.
- Never charge the customer more than the fare shown on the confirmation without prior approval.
- Treat every customer courteously and respect their privacy.
- Prohibited: smoking, using a mobile while driving, soliciting tips or unauthorised stops, and carrying unapproved passengers.
6. Fares and Payments
Fares are set by OzCabs and include driver charges, fuel and GST within the listed kilometres. Driver earnings are settled at the agreed frequency and terms communicated during onboarding. Extra-kilometre and extra-hour charges are payable as per the published rates.
7. Vehicle Maintenance
Drivers are responsible for keeping their vehicles serviced, insured and clean. Vehicles failing safety checks may be suspended from the platform until the issue is rectified. Periodic vehicle inspections may be conducted.
8. Safety and Insurance
All vehicles must be insured as required by law. In case of an accident, follow the prescribed procedure: protect the site, inform the customer, report to local authorities, and notify OzCabs immediately. Any damages are handled through the applicable insurance process.
9. Data and Privacy
We collect and use your personal and vehicle data solely for onboarding, verification, booking operations and compliance. Your information is never sold; sharing is limited to authorities and essential service providers as required by law.
10. Suspension and Deactivation
OzCabs may suspend or deactivate a driver partner for policy violations. Examples include repeated no-shows, misbehaviour, unsafe driving, unauthorised fare charging, or providing false documents. A fair opportunity to respond is extended before final deactivation.
11. Independent Contractor
Driver partners operate as independent contractors, not employees. You retain control over your working hours, routes and availability, and are responsible for your own taxes and statutory compliance.
12. Changes to Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions are effective when published, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
