Privacy Policy
Last updated: 01 August 2026
At OzCabs, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used, shared and safeguarded when you use our taxi and car rental services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide our cab booking services. This includes the details you share when booking a ride, contacting us, or applying as a driver partner.
- Personal details: name, mobile number, email address and emergency contact (if provided).
- Booking details: pickup and drop locations, journey date and time, trip type, selected vehicle and fare.
- Driver partner details: name, address, driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance and background-check information.
- Technical data: device type, browser, IP address and pages visited, used to improve our service and security.
- Payment confirmation details — we do not store full card numbers or PINs; payments are processed through authorised payment gateways.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to deliver, improve and secure our services.
- To confirm bookings, assign chauffeurs and share trip details with your driver.
- To verify driver partners and maintain road-safety compliance.
- To send booking confirmations, ride alerts and important service updates.
- To process refunds and resolve complaints or disputes.
- To improve app and website performance, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing of Information
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with parties essential to your journey or as required by law.
- With your assigned driver partner — your name, pickup location and route, and contact number for the trip.
- With payment gateways — to process your payment securely.
- With authorities — when required by applicable law, court order or government regulation.
- With service providers (hosting, SMS, analytics) under confidentiality agreements, only to the extent needed.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Booking records are typically retained for the period required by tax and transport regulations, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.
5. Your Rights
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your data, subject to legal or contractual obligations.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls and secure storage — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies to keep the booking flow working (such as remembering your session). We may also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for persons aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
